Hope all is good! So it's been 1 week since I performed at Tribal Solstice 6 in Fort Lauderdale Florida. It was a good performance. I didn't like it how I performed but the audience did and I'm happy they liked it. I didn't fall flat on my face! Yay! :)
I was a bit nervous since it was my first coming out solo piece out there in public. For my last minute rehearsals, I rehearsed all week at Goddess Studio and it was such a beautiful studio! The owner Carmen was really sweet! I want a studio just like that!
I thank the Tribal Solstice organizer Alina of Lotus Studios in Pembroke, Pines, FL and her husband JP for getting plywood for my performance! That was just amazing! The Tribal Solstice was a tight knit group that was sweet. Each of them was professional and warm. It was very organized. This was my first Bellydance festival exprience so I really didn't know what to expect really with everything!. They were awesome and you could feel the close knit family vibe with all of them. I am so happy I performed despite not feel too thrilled with my performance actually. Thank you for the opportunity to perform at Tribal Solstice Alina!
My bra I performed in was designed by me and crafted by the lovely Blythe Jones! My makeup was done by the amazing Taryll Atkins! These ladies were professional and so patient with me! I go back and forth alot with anything I do and these ladies were just awesome and can't wait to work with them again soon!
The shopping at Tribal Solstice was great and I bought 2 pieces from Moonlight Diva! I did not plan on spending money but I needed a coverup so bad and it was beautiful what they had and I got this awesome duster jacket thing also...to die for!
I loved studying with the amazing Jill Parker, who is the pioneer of Tribal Fusion Belly Dance. She definitely made me realize how much more I love more folkoric moves and how I can incorporate them in my dance. I love the techniques that she taught. I actually did a bit today this morning. I won't ever dance like her cuz she is Jill Parker and has her own distinct style...but I can aspire and hopefully incorporate some of that again in my dance. I loved loved loved the shimmy and hip work workshops with her. I'm glad she helped me fall in-love with Tribal Bellydance again. I loved studying with her 3 hours a day for 3 days. Wish I could do more and hopefully I will be able to at some point. I wished I could have taken more classes at Tribal Solstice but alas no money!! ugh!
I've uploaded a few pics from my performance on my facebook fanpage. Click on the picture above to see more pics!....Yep that's me in the picture! :) It was a great night with great talent. The gala show was also awesome! Check them out!
Now getting ready to start rehearsals and start designing my costume for my performance at the Miami Bellydance Convention Gala Show on August 31, 2012! Woohoo!
I leave you with a video of Jill Parker performing. Have a good one!
