Soooo....I submitted an application to the 2013 Tribal Solstice Scholarship contest back in January I believe. The prize was to take all the classes at the 2013 Tribal Solstice festival for free.
I submitted my application at the last hour. Really because I didn't expect to win for a variety of reasons but mostly because I knew there were ALOT of dancers going for that scholarship. So I thought, meh,...good to apply but you won't get it. Next...
Well late Tuesday night I kept getting a bunch of texts and messages saying congratulations. I didn't understand why. Then at around 11pm I get a text saying "YOU WON!" Still didn't get it..then i looked on facebook and then I saw it....Scholarship winner is AVIANA. SHOCKED BEYOND SHOCKED BEYOND SHOCKED! Wow!
I did not expect this in a million years. TRUE! Then I looked at the Tribal Solstice website and then saw what you see n the picture. That sealed it. wow.
I must thank everyone who brought me to this moment. My teachers, my friends, dance buddies, haters, supporters, the judges, and my dreams.
This really showed how I did not expect this, I was one of the last people to hand in my application and one of the last people to know that I won. lol.. it's not because I didn't care...it's just I really didn't expect it!
Just shows you should never count yourself out in anything. I'm so thankful for this amazing opportunity to study for free at Tribal Solstice. These teachers are super top notch. And I get to study under some of my ultimate tribal faves..like Jill Parker, APRIL ROSE!,.. Donna Mejia, Kami Liddle..and more..Yes I love love love April Rose! A silent groupie I am....well...not anymore..lol...
