Good News!!  I know I've been MIA for a few months...life takes us off a side road and you must deal with things.  But I'm seeing a little light.

I just got confirm to perform as a soloist at "Tribal Solstice" June 7-10, 2012 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida!...It is an awesome dance festival focusing on Tribal & Fusion Belly Dancing.  I'm soooo EXCITED!

Come if you can!  There will also be LOTS of other awesome dancers to see!

Happy Sunday!

I  hope you guys had a great weekend!  I'm hoping for a better week so I'm gonna stay positive.
Lately, I've been so involved in my flamenco more than I have with bellydancing.  I started both at the exact same time...maybe 1 month apart.  I'm gearing up for some performances and I need to take my flamenco AND bellydancing to another level.  It's so hard with my schedule to keep true to both and more at the same time.  I hate how life throws us things that keep us from getting what we really want...or i should say...life makes it harder to get what we want. 

Nesrin Topakapi was a dancer famous in the 1980s.  Her dance is pure art.  She opened a school in Germany in the 1990s.  Not sure what she is doing now.   Please watch this clip of this lovely dancer. 

Anyhow, watching this video of the great Nesrin Topkapi from Turkey has got me yearning to go back and do more.

This has got to be her best performance to date......gotta go back to Egyptian class...geez...and look at her rolls!...such control...i'm now touching my diaphragm, upper abs, obliques, trying to get something out of this..wow...such an amazing performance in total!

yes I'm on a roll with these posts...enjoy it now  cuz i don't post much on here...but i do alot on my facebook fanpage.  :)

Hanan is a Cuban Belly Dancer from Miami.  She went to Cuban and taught belly dancing to the women there in Havana.  But she did a whole lot more than teach the dance.  What she has done with her work for the dance, for the Cuban women, for women every where is inspirational.....don't worry it's in English and Spanish... you'll understand it..  :)
